Party Camp presented by Talking Rain, held Saturday, August 17th, 2013.
Organized by Neil Bergquist and his team of awesome volunteers and presented by Talking Rain!
We filmed a short for Neil's brainchild "Seattle Snow Day 2013" and he asked if we could film this event as well.
Stoked to have been asked back, we jumped at the opportunity!
I assembled a team (Ian Wells, Kyle Thompson & Unie Kim) to help film from multiple angles and different focal lengths to tell the story of the day, ending in an EPIC water balloon fight!
We haven't done much "around water" videos or photography in the past, so I didn't have the necessary camera covers, so we bought a large roll of plastic wrap from Costco. It wasn't the perfect solution, but combined with our cameras and lenses being somewhat waterproof, worked well enough. However, next time I will be purchasing REAL covers or underwater housing.
The event was housed east of Key Arena and south of massive Water Fountain at Seattle Center, right under the mighty Space Needle.
There was a HUGE beer garden of RedHook brews to get crunk before the main event!
There were also food trucks on site to supply energy for the days festivities, many pit stops of huge bins filled with free Sparkling ICE water from Talking Rain to quench your thirst, lots of Camp style games to be played and even Ford Motor Company was present to display a few of their newest cars.
The event was hosted by Camp Counselor Styles Bentley with DJ Jerry Wang, Luc and the Lovingtons, BFA, DJ Gabe Gavilanes & DJ Loch Stimpson providing the entertainment for the day.
Our task was to cover everyone having fun! --and FUN it was!
Everyone was in a great mood, smiled for the camera and was excited to be a part of history!
We filmed on 3 cams: 2x Canon 5DmII's and one 5DmIII.
We used a variety of lenses and equipment:
Canon 16-35 2.8L II
Canon 70-200 2.8L II
Nikon 35-105 3.5-4.5
Manfrotto Monopod, Tripod & Head
And the final video was edited with:
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
Adobe After Effects CS6
The music was the toughest part to find!
We went through about 50 tracks before finding the gem we ended up going with.
The music for the video was performed by Benji Jackson and the song was titled: "Go-Go Punk Rockadelic".
Check out some of his work and support what he does!
Thanks again to Neil for inviting us to be a part of this wonderful adventure! We look forward to working with all these great people again in the future!
Thank you for the smiles!!
