An epiem holiday photography portrait
Unie needed a Christmas gift for her parents this year. She had mentioned she hasn't sent them current photos of herself in ages.
We decided to do a quick portrait session and send her parents some nice, shiny, new photos!
We [very] recently moved to a new place, so we haven't had time to really venture out or even unpack, but wanted to still have a nice end result portrait. Excuse the mess!
I love the idea of using Christmas lights for colorful bokeh, so we rounded up some extra lights we had laying around and coupled it with a fancy sequin backdrop we use for our New Years Photobooths.
We hung the backdrop from our living room window curtain rod and draped the Christmas lights around it.
Then we set up an LED panel I usually use for video as the rim light and put 500watt (using 3 bulbs instead of 5) continuous light in the hallway for key light.
Here is a diagram of the setup:
Camera Info & Settings:

After a few photos, we got the shot we wanted and that was a wrap!
And here are the print we made from the session!
